Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions about pricing and coverage

What am I paying for?

You are paying for automated surveillance across UK Companies House filings and Gazette insolvency notices, matched directly to your customer exposure and credit limits. Plans scale primarily by the number of active companies you monitor (25, 100, or 500) and workflow capabilities such as team action queues, configurable rules, and REST API/webhook integration.

What counts as a monitored company?

Each actively monitored customer or supplier on your watchlist counts as one company against your plan quota. We continuously check official registers for all active companies in your portfolio.

Do archived or inactive companies count against my limit?

No. If you cease trading with a customer or close an account, you can archive that record. Archived companies do not count toward your active monitoring allowance, allowing you to recycle slots for new active accounts at any time.

What happens when I reach my company limit?

The application will alert you when you reach your capacity and invite you to upgrade to the next tier with a single click. We will never add surprise charges to your bill without your explicit consent.

Why upgrade from Starter (£39) to Professional (£79) or Business (£149)?

Beyond higher company allowances (100 companies on Professional and 500 on Business), higher plans unlock essential workflow features: Professional includes our prioritized exception queue, user assignment, follow-up dates, and custom rule severity overrides. Business includes Developer REST API and Webhook access for connecting directly to your ERP or accounting software.

Is there a free trial and is a credit card required?

Every plan includes an unrestricted 30-day free trial. You can set up your account, upload your customer accounts via CSV, and configure exposure. Payment details are handled securely via Stripe hosted checkout before the trial concludes.

Can I upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time?

Yes. All plans are billed on a flexible monthly rolling basis. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel whenever you need from the Billing portal in your settings. There are no annual lock-in contracts or multi-month notice periods.

Is API and Webhook access included?

Yes, Developer Preview access to the CreditWatchGo REST API and real-time Webhooks is included on the Business plan and Enterprise tier. Visit our API & Integrations page for endpoints, schema documentation, and use cases.

How does CreditWatchGo differ from Companies House's free "Follow a company" service?

Companies House's free follow tool only sends an email alert when filings are formally processed and recorded on the Companies House register. It does not monitor legal Gazette notices (such as winding-up petitions and administration appointments) which appear days or weeks earlier during court actions. Most importantly, Companies House has no awareness of your customer exposure, credit limits, or payment terms.
